The 2017 season was nearing an end. Greg and the w20 team headed south for the final weekend of racing with The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series in the Textron Off Road World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Thursday, November 2…Qualifying night…Greg qualified strong with a 6th quick in Flight A for Friday night and a 9th quick in Flight A for Saturday night.
Friday, November 3…Greg would start off his night finishing third in his 8-lap, heat race and later started seventeenth in the 30-lap, A-Main. Unfortunately Greg clipped an infield tire putting an early end to his night and he finished in thirtieth.
Saturday, November 4…Greg would finish seventh in his 8-lap, heat race and later gain twelve spots (from twenty-eighth) and finish sixteenth in the 30-lap, A-Main.
“We made some changes to the car prior to coming down here,” shared Greg. “We hit on some things and it showed in our qualifying efforts for both nights. Unfortunately I messed up in the Main on Friday night when I clipped the infield tire and took out the front end. The good is we were running really strong and moving forward. We repaired the car on Saturday morning and thought we would be good for Saturday night but I found out quickly in the heat race that wasn’t the case. I just couldn’t take off. We made some changes for the Main and the car performed better. We were able to pass some cars and get a decent finish for starting so far back in the field.”
“It’s been a long season on the road and I want to thank my primary partners Hercules Tire, DNC Hydraulics, Ohio Logistics, All Star Plumbing, Gear Alloy Wheels, Bedford Valley Petroleum andWeikel Sportswear, as well as all of my product partners. Without all of my partners we couldn’t be out here doing this. I especially want to thank my wife, Kenzie and daughters Lilli and Alivia…they are my number 1 fans and my source of motivation. I’ve said this many times…I am one blessed dude to be making a living at something I love.”
