The Kistler powered Maxim w20 headed to Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin for the Jim “JB” Boyd Memorial presented by Karavan Trailers with The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series for some Saturday night racing.
Thirty-eight cars fill the pits in front of a packed house. Greg put down a lap of 11.46 on this high-banked, third-mile oval for sixth quick in Flight A. He would later finish second in his 10-lap, heat race and finish second in the 8-lap, Craftsman Club Dash. With that finish he would start outside of the front row alongside of pole sitter, Donny Shatz in the 40-lap, A-Main. Greg would take the lead and keep it for twenty-four laps. He later relinquished the lead to eventual winner Shane Stewart. After surviving multiple cautions and a lot of track chaos, Greg would fall back a couple of more spots in the closing laps to finish in fourth.
“I gotta admit...I am a bit frustrated,” said Greg after the race. “We didn’t get the podium finish but it was a great night for our Hercules Tires team. I can’t thank Bonz (Bonzai Bruns-Crew Chief for Sheldon Haudenschild) and the 93 team (@haud93) enough for the help they gave us tonight. They are a great group of friends and part of our on-the-road racing family. Like I said it was a good night for us...we build on it and head down the road to Joliet for some early week racing.”
